Imagine walking out of your front door right on to the beach. Does that sound like a dream? This luxurious apartment community is situated on a beautiful kilometre-long stretch of sandy beach dominated by an ancient watchtower, and offers superb, unhampered views across the Mediterranean. Every aspect is special; traditional Moorish architecture, beautiful gardens and inviting swimming pools provide a truly idyllic location for seaside living.

There are both 2 and 3 bedroom apartment options available along with a selection of penthouse apartments.

All modern comforts are provided in these privately-owned apartments which have been furnished and equipped to an exceptional standard, reflecting the different Spanish and Moorish styles of the region. Each one has air conditioning and a separate covered terrace or balcony facing out to sea.

La Perla de la Bahia is divided into two separate communities. The apartments facing Playa Ancha have the use of four swimming pools and those facing La Galera, on the other side of the tower, have the use of three pools. The La Perla Cafés in La Heredia, La Bahia and at Monte Mayor are open most days for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Information about opening times and menus will be provided in the house when you arrive. Fax and internet services are available.

GOLF
The Costa del Sol is, of course, renowned for its golf courses and boasts an impressive range of courses designed to challenge the novice and the seasoned player alike. The privileged climate of the area makes golf enjoyable all year round. The Los Arqueros course, which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, is situated immediately below La Heredia. Valderrama, near Estepona, is the home of the Ryder Cup and floodlit golf is now available at La Dama de Noche near Marbella.

One of the more distinctive courses lies seven kilometres inland from the coastal road between Marbella and Estepona, concealed by rugged mountains in a paradise yet to be really discovered. Monte Mayor nestles in a sheltered valley high in the hills of Benahavís, commanding unparalleled views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and the African coastline. Flora and fauna abound and wild boar and the majestic king eagle live undisturbed in this dramatic natural reserve.

This unique 18 hole course, complete with its own country club, covers an area of 5,562 square metres and was designed in 1989 by Pepe Gancedo, a well known course designer, to test players to their utmost. Impeccable greens are set within tranquil valleys where the River Arroyo la Romera flows over rocks of natural marble into deep ravines and gullies.

Although all the golf courses in the area are challenging, Monte Mayor offers a particularly exhilarating and rewarding experience.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Andalucía is often regarded as the meeting point between Europe, Africa and the seas. The region is steeped in history and dominated by a mixture of cultures: Roman ruins, Moorish towers, Renaissance churches and Gothic monuments all bear witness to its colourful past. Here traditions are deeply rooted in everyday life as demonstrated by the many religious festivals held throughout the year.

The numerous beaches range from the popular holiday beaches which are to be found around Marbella - with excellent water sports facilities including windsurfing and deep sea diving - to natural and less crowded beaches further along the coastline. La Bahía is situated between Playa Ancha and Playa la Paloma.

Some of the most exclusive shops in Spain are to be found in the 'jet set' towns of Marbella and Puerto Banús. San Pedro also offers excellent shopping and restaurants. Puerto Banús and Sotogrande attract the many luxurious yachts and boats which sail the Mediterranean, whilst Estepona still retains the magical charm of a traditional fishing village. In all these towns there is an abundance of the finest restaurants specialising in superb fresh seafood and delicious local cuisine.

Apart from golf, there are plenty of other activities: a first class equestrian centre in Estepona, aqua parks at Puerto Banús and Estepona, and a wonderful zoo and nature park at Selvo. There are fascinating museums, exposition centres and art galleries, particularly in Málaga, the birthplace of Picasso. Gibraltar is less than one hour's drive away and within two hours you can be skiing on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
